Noto Sans: The Typeface of History
Retro flair paired with a minimalist air to create a high-end magazine.
Moises wanted to rebrand the quarterly print-only Castro Capital to a modern retro publication. The visual identity and overall look and feel needed to work on multiple devices and in various contexts, which made this project a delight to undetake.

Independent Study: Breaking The Grid and Rewriting Graphic Design
After coming across the term "Black Grid" I began to do some research outside of the fundamentals of graphic design that we are taught in academia. Through my research I began to work backwards from these fundamentals and bring light to the appropriation in these teachings and provide some examples on why breaking them can have prove to be useful and creatively innovative. I think it is important to celebrate all artists and their work, even the ones that use a less traditional method.

Collaborative AI Exhibition | Alongside the Work of Sasha Stiles
This project was a collaborative effort with english graduate students at Binghamton University. The goal was to use their original poems to create two posters. One poster included the use of AI and the other was inspired on how the poets wanted viewers to interpret their work visually. The project as a whole was inspired by Sasha Stiles and her work, and was put on display with it during the Spring 2024 semester. I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore AI and get out of my comfort zone.

Class Assignment: John Arthur Cafe Rebranding
During my senior year of university my professor challenged me with hypothetically rebranding the cafe in our Fine Arts building. This process including rebranding starting with the logo and creating a brand manual to show off to the potential client, including mockups.

Typeface Exploration
This project challenged me to choose a typeface of my choice and research it, creating a booklet to highlight all the information acquired. I chose Google's Noto Sans because of my love for different cultures and history. Noto Sans began bridging the hand drawn and technological worlds, including ancient and calligraphic scripts. I wanted to bring awareness to this typeface and how innovative it has become. Some of the scripts that Noto Sans includes are Hieroglyphics, Cuneiform, Nordic Runes, Mandarin Simplified and Traditional Characters, Japanese Kanji, and many more.
